In further areas of northern and western parts of East Asia it is very dry. It is very dry in this area because of the dry continental air blowing across this region from the west. China and Mongolia only get enough rain to create a steppe climate. The grass in the region provides food for many of the animals here. Mongolians fear dzud conditions. Dzuds are a pattern of weather of a dry summer followed by a harsh winter.
ReplyDeleteMonsoons affect the area by releasing all their moisture by the time they reach the inlands. Some areas like China and Mongolia only get little rain to support few things. So the area gets little rainfall. They might still live in the area because of population problems or farm lands.
The northern and far western parts of East Asia have a dry continental climate. In summer, this is caused by dry continental air blowing from the west across Asia. In winter, cold Arctic air from also the north also carries some moisture. Monsoon winds from the Pacific also release moisture in this region. Most of Mongolia and northern China have a steppe climate, which creates many types of grassland. A weather pattern of a dry summer followed by a cold winter is called a dzud by the Mongolian people. Some areas in East Asia are also extremely dry because of the lack of rainfall. Moisture is blocked by surrounding mountains, which then creates deserts like the Gobi and the Taklimakan.
ReplyDeleteMonsoons affect East Asia by creating many different climate zones. They have both positive and negative effects on this region and can be looked at two different ways. Some positive effects the monsoons have on this region are they provide enough rainfall to support grasslands and livestock. But if the monsoon winds are too severe, they can also kill the livestock. Another reason why the monsoons are bad is because they can cause very harsh winters. The people of this region still live here because they depend on the livestock and farming for a living, and the weather is always changing.
In northern and western East Asia there is a dry continental climate. Dry air blows in the summer, and the cold Arctic air carries a small amount of moisture in the winter. The steppe climate is made in northern China and Mongolia by having only a little bit of rain received. Mongolians call a harsh winter following a dry winter a dzud. Any moisture that reaches this area is trapped by the surrounding mountains. Gobi, meaning “place without water”, covers most of northern China and southern Mongolia. While averaging less than half of an inch of rain a year in the driest areas, not many people are found living here.
ReplyDeleteMonsoons change the climates in the region, which is often a problem. Even though the monsoons give harsh winters and dry summers, there are also many positive effects it has on this region. One important one is that the extensive grasslands provide food for many animals. These animals that get fed by the grasslands include goats, sheep, camel, and cattle. But when a monsoon killed over 10 million animals, a third of their livestock was gone.
The climate is dry in the northern and far west areas of East Asia. In the summer this is caused by dry winds blowing across Asia. Another reason for it being so dry is the monsoon has released all of its moisture by the time it reaches there. Most of Mongolia receives just enough to have a steppe climate.
ReplyDeleteThe monsoon gives Asia tons of water for crops and when the water goes down hill it erodes fertile soil down hill which makes tons of fertile farm lands.
The climate is dry in the northern and far western part of East Asia. In the summer is caused the Dry Congenital. The air blow across the Asia from the west. In the winter are cold . The air is from Arctic from the Norths. The monsoon winds from the Pacific. Extensive grasslands grow in this mostly dry climate. The grass supports cattle, sheep, goats ans camels. Some years that they got some rain.
